

Research Associate (PostDoc) in Ion Channel Biophysics (m/f/d)
JOB OVERVIEW
The Institute of Physiology II at the University Hospital Jena is looking for a postdoctoral research associate (m/f/d) to start as soon as possible. At the Institute, natural scientists from various disciplines and physicians work on research projects exploring the function of ligand-gated and voltage-gated ion channels. The focus of the advertised position are the properties of viral model channels in context of the DFG-funded interdisciplinary Research Training Group 3014 "PhInt".
Your duties and responsibilities:
- Carrying out ion channel research using various methods of molecular biology and electrophysiology with a focus on artificial membrane systems.
- Supporting the principal investigator in the supervision of PhD students.
Your competences:
- A completed experimental PhD in physiology, biology, biophysics, molecular biology or a related field.
- Experience with laboratory work.
- Willingness to learn electrophysiological, molecular biological and cell culture methods.
- Willingness to learn computerized data analysis methods.
- Ability to work independently on research projects and actively participate in project planning

**The position is classified according to TV-L in pay grade E13. Remuneration is within the salary range (€4,600 to €5,200 gross) if the personal and collective agreement requirements are met and corresponds to the classification for full-time employment.
