The Project: The aim of this research project is to decipher the neurobiological mechanisms of stress processing and emotion regulation in the context of childhood trauma. The project focuses on the application of multimodal neuroimaging, specifically functional magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Through this transdiagnostic approach, we aim to gain novel, essential insights for personalized psychiatry and psychotherapy.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Independent running and analysis of multimodal neuroimaging studies (fMRI, MRS). Development and management of the project up to publication readiness.
  • Collection and analysis of clinical, behavioral, and imaging data in transdiagnostic samples.
  • Co-supervision of Bachelor's and Master's theses (particularly if filled at the Postdoc level).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Completed university degree (Master’s/Diploma or a completed PhD) in Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, or a related field.
  • Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, and/or R.
  • Experience in the field of neuroimaging (fMRI/MRS) and statistical data analysis is a strong asset.
  • High motivation, reliability, and commitment to independent scientific work within an ambitious, interdisciplinary team.
  • Excellent English language skills (both written and spoken). German knowledge is not a must but is appreciated.
We offer you even more:
  • Introduction to a highly topical, clinically relevant field of research within a dynamic and internationally networked environment.
  • Personal development opportunities through the development of individual research projects.
  • Structured supervision and the opportunity to pursue a doctorate (if not already completed) or further academic qualification (Postdoc).
  • Flexible working hours to support a good work-life balance.
