JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. P. Christian Schulze, in the Department of Cardiology at the University Hospital Jena, Germany.
Research in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Schulze is focused on cardiovascular research, especially in cardiac cell signaling and myocardial metabolism. Mouse and cell model systems, including conditional gene knockouts, will be used in these research projects, and state-of-the-art techniques are employed, such as real time PCR, CRISPR/Cas9 Genome Editing, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry and cell sorting, surgical models of heart failure, ultrasonic and telemetric measurements of cardiovascular function in mice.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
The successful applicant will have a PhD or equivalent degree in molecular biology, genetics, or genomics, and evidence of publication. Candidates with background and experience in mouse in vivo studies and genomics are preferred. Good writing and oral communication skills in English are required as well as the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
